INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE AND NON-VIOLENCE. JANUARY 30TH
Last Wednesday, January 30, in Spanish classes, we celebrated the Day of Peace and Nonviolence. Throughout the whole week we worked on values and attitudes to recognise the special day.
Our story this year has been the internationally known: "I love you (almost always)" by Anna Llenas.
Different groups of children worked on a variety of activities to raise awareness of the importance of respect for others, as well as empathy and diversity.
Please take time to look at the photos on Flickr, (link below), which show some of the activities which the children participated in during the week. There was a beautiful joint mural which they completed together to signify the Day of Peace.
Thank you very much to all the parents for their contributions: they helped by bringing a balloon which matched the colour of their child's favourite character from the story, and also for reading the story at home. We hope it has been a very rewarding week for teachers, parents and pupils.
Below are some links to the story so that parents can learn a little more about this wonderful story and share it with their children.
