Makimei in Kenya – Mr Baldwin's Trip so Far

14th February 19

Last year, the Charity Walk (21 kilometres from the old site in Lliber to our new school on the Cumbre del Sol) raised a staggering 19,500 euros for the Makimei Orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya in memory of our head girl Tallulah Beard, ex-pupil Lucas Manzanares and teacher Pilar Gaughan.

Head of Pastoral Care, Mr Baldwin is currently visiting the orphanage to get to know the children and the staff and discuss ways to build a strong, ongoing relationship between Makimei and The Lady Elizabeth School. There is a possibility that in the future some of our older pupils will be able to go to do volunteer work.
We look forward to Mr Baldwin’s return next week so that we can hear all about his trip and to start planning for who we as School community will be able to assist the orphanage!
