The Tritones Association visited the ‘Parque Natural Serra Gelada’ near Altea to help with the cleaning up of a small island off the coast, where no-one has set foot on for a long time. The island is inhabited by many different species of birds and the marine life is abundant. Unfortunately, even though there is limited human access, there is still a lot of rubbish on the island. Tritones Association members, the Cruz Roja and other organisations set about to ‘clean’ the island and removed several bags of rubbish which had ended up there due to the sea currents. It was an incredibly satisfying feeling for the members of the ‘clean up’ team to leave the island in the pristine manner that it should be!
