Twenty-five participants of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award have braved the elements in the Pyrenees over the last few days. On the first day they abseiled 25 metres in a freezing cold waterfall, jumped 8 metres into the same freezing water and had to toboggan, slide and complete two other abseils before they could get out the other end of the canyon. The next day they walked 21 kilometres in the beautiful Ordesa National Park, encountering slippery ice and wet snow. The rest of the walks were much more gentle but tiring and wet on the last day. A great, but sometimes, cold and wet time was had by everyone.
