Year 11, 12 and 13 students went on a field trip to Valencia on Tuesday to work on their fieldwork techniques. These techniques are essential for their final exams, especially at A Level, where they have to do their own personal investigation which amounts to 20% of their final mark. Whilst in Valencia, they looked at human geography fieldwork techniques. They completed pedestrian and traffic counts, land use surveys, environmental bipolar surveys as well as asking the public to complete questionnaires. The questionnaires asked people where they had travelled from and their reasons for coming to Valencia. They looked at two main transects through the old town. In the near future, students will go on another field trip to do physical geography fieldwork techniques.
