The Lady Elizabeth School Hosts an Informative University Fair for Students and Parents
The Lady Elizabeth School, was delighted to host their II University Fair. Despite the weather, which prevented some universities from attending, the event was extremely successful with 14 Universities from Spain and as far afield as the UK attending the event.
Students, and their parents, had the invaluable opportunity to speak first hand with the representatives from both Private and Public Universities. Year 11, 12 and 13 students made the most of being able to ask questions about particular courses they were interested in and the entrance requirement for that course. The event organiser, Eulalia Tamayo, was delighted with the response from the students and parents who attended the Fair. ‘It is such an important event for both students and their parents. They have the opportunity to speak with the actual representatives from the Universities and to receive information about the courses they may be looking at studying when they have completed A Levels (Bachillerato). Having someone from the University here is so much more personal and informative than using the internet.’
Eulalia is dedicated to continuing to create an event which will really help the students in planning for their future studies. She would like to expand the fair each year and to continue to focus on not only the Spanish Universities, but also International Universities. ‘This year we hosted a University from London as well as Universities from all over Spain. We were pleased to welcome external students from ‘institutos’ and private schools in the local area. Next year we aim to increase the number of Spanish and International Universities attending the fair. We want to provide a real service both to our own pupils and also to external students.’
