23rd January 18
On Monday January 22, Year 8 pupils travelled to ‘Tavernes de la Valldigna’ (Gandía) to visit the ‘Cova de Bolomor’. Whilst there students were able to learn more about the Prehistory topic which they have been studying in class
Whilst visiting the cave the archaeologists explained about the different populations that inhabited the area during the Paleolithic era. They talked about the oldest hominids of the Mediterranean which were inhabitants of the area during this time.
After the visit to the cave, students were able to demonstrate what they had learnt at a didactic workshop where they made the different flint instruments, (axes, arrow heads, hooks, and other objects used by the people at this time), as well as learning how to make fire using different Paleolithic methods.
