Year 7 pupils had a special treat in their mentoring lesson when two very welcome visitors joined their Year 13 Mentors during the session. Nala and George, two beautiful dogs from the non-profit organisation, ASSISCAN Animal Assisted Therapy, came with their handler, Spanish teacher, Eulalia Tamayo. Nala and George do very important work in the community and help with rehabilitation and other forms of therapy. Year 7 pupils were fortunate enough to learn some of the correct ways in which to handle dogs. They were also able to get the dogs to perform agility exercises using firm but kind commands. The session was enjoyed by all Year 7 pupils and the of course the Mentors. Thank you to Srta Tamayo for bringing Nala and George into school. Hopefully we will see them again very soon.
