Presentation of Certificates 2016

28th February 17

During the Presentation of Certificates Ceremony this year there was also a celebration of extra-curricular achievements of students from Year 10 to Year 13. The Senior School Choir opened the ceremony with a beautiful rendition of Ring Silver Bells. The Headmaster congratulated students for their outstanding results and presented the GCSE certificates. This was followed by Year 13 students, Tatiana Nesterenko and Nora Kvam sharing their experiences of the FAMUN  MUN conference at the Farel Academy in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Duke of Edinburgh students who completed their Gold or Silver Expedition in August in Iceland, gave a passionate recount of their four day hike on the gruelling Laugavegur Trail. Year 10 pupil, Season Wang, was delightful in her Public Speaking speech about the two types of dreams. Mr Wijeratne then presented the A-Level certificates. Linda Zhang was awarded the prize for the best GCSE results with an amazing 7 A* and 3 As. Congratulations Linda!

It was wonderful as always to see Year 13 students from the previous year and to hear of their new lives at university.

Parents were invited to stay after the ceremony to look at the photography display organised by photography teacher, Ms Stefi Ash, and the Duke of Edinburgh equipment and photos set up by the caretaker, Mr Stuart Welfoot.
