A student at The Lady Elizabeth School has been congratulated on his initiative to create a school App which will keep parents and pupils up to date with really helpful information.

Philip Mackie has always had a keen interest in technology and decided he would like to tackle the creation of an App. During his spare time, he has been developing this project and has now completed a special coding for an entire school App. The App has been designed to provide parents and pupils with constant and easy access to useful information such as School news, bus times and routes at the touch of button – all the important types of information that parents might need, especially if there are any changes to normal routines. This App is now available to download from the Apple App Store.

Headmaster, Mr Richard Wijeratne said, “I am delighted at the success of Philip´s project and congratulate him on his achievement. He has shown real energy and determination to get this App launched and I hope many of our parents will support him by downloading and using this useful tool.  Philip is a classic example of the way we totally support students as individuals. We encourage them all to fulfil their dreams and goals in everything they do. Really well done Philip.”

The next step for Philip will be to build the App for Android phones once he has gained more knowledge on JAVA, the programming language for Android phones.
