Winner of ISP Essay Competition Travels to Mexico

Jaime Gómez Ferra in Year 10 won   the recent Laude Competition for a discursive essay which raised awareness on global issues entitled ‘My World, My Responsibility, Our Future. Jaime travelled with the winners from other Laude Schools to Mexico City for an educational and enjoyable two weeks. He stayed with a kind, caring family  Mexican family  making friends with  their son Emilio Gonzalez Elizondo Castillo. He attended a School with 5000 students and studied with Year 11 pupils in classes that were intellectually demanding and interesting. In relation to culture, Jaime visited the Teotihuacán Pyramids which he found amazing and saw the site of human sacrifices. He also visited the Anthropology Museum and learnt about the Aztecs and the Pre-historic period.  An excursion to The Six Flags Theme Park provided a pleasurable day’s recreation. Jaime was very pleased to win this Competition and capitalise on this marvellous opportunity.
