18th April 16
Year 7 students from LAUDE, The Lady Elizabeth School enjoyed a day in the beautiful and very historic city of Xàtiva. With the help of informative tour guides, the pupils learnt all about the history of Xàtiva through the different eras. They visited many monuments and places of interest in the town including the Cathedral, Museo de Bellas Artes and ‘el Museu del Almundin’. They became temporary residents of Xativa and had to pledge their allegiance to the rulers of Xativa. Afterwards they caught the tourist bus to the castle and were given information all about the castle, the people who lived there, the prisoners and the battles which took place. Taking advantage of the wonderful views over Xàtiva and the surrounding area, the students had lunch at the top of the castle. The tour guides were very complimentary of the Year 7 pupils and were impressed with the student’s knowledge about Spanish history.
A great day was had by all!
