18th May 15
LAUDE The Lady Elizabeth School’s Firth Annual Art Show is currently being exhibited at Museu Soler Blasco, Carrer de les Primicies, 1, Javea.
The Opening Night was held on May 8 and it was great to see some of our A Level art students from last year and to hear what they are currently doing.
The exhibition, this year, features the work of seven individual A Level students, from last year, who followed the Cambridge A Level Art syllabus.
There are 24 different pieces of art on display, which is only a small selection of the students’ overall work. The Gallery Setting allows for the paintings to be viewed as they should be seen and gives the public an opportunity to see the world through the eyes of the 16 to 18 year old artists who have created these images. The quality of the work represents the students’ dedication to their studies which is shown through their technical ability as well as their creative reimagining of the world which surrounds them. Once again the topics of the students’ work incorporate a wide variety of themes, from traditional topics such as; Portraiture and Still Life to the creation of images or scenes inspired by the imagination. The work illustrates not only the student’s technical skills but their creative flair.
We would like to congratulate all of the students involved and share with them our gratitude for the wonderful commitment they have made to Art within The Lady Elizabeth School.
The exhibition continues in Jávea until May 31.
