The Lady Elizabeth Junior School was transformed this week as staff and pupils have enjoyed celebrating ‘Book Week’. The corridors came alive as each class chose an author to learn about and decorated their doors into a scene from their favourite book. Authors ranged from Eric Carl to J.K Rowling and from AA. Milne to David Walliams. Classes enjoyed activities such as making paper plate Mr Men and creating a Gruffalo dance in Foundation stage and writing and performing poems about story characters in Key stage 1. Older pupils used photography and ICT to research their authors and some classes even created spells and took part in Quidditch tournaments! Magical storytellers came into school and enthralled the children with tales and stories from around the world and the whole school dressed up as book characters for a marvellous parade!
