Preparation for the Model United Nations Conference, which commences on Thursday, is in its final stages. The MUN student committee, headed by Maria Alonso, is extremely excited and looking forward to greeting delegates from all around the world. On Wednesday participants arrive from Mexico with the rest of the delegates, from Spain, Dubai and The USA, arriving on Thursday in time for the Opening Ceremony which will be held in the 'Casa de Cultura' in Calpe.
Students are working around the clock to ensure that everything is in place and that the conference runs smoothly. Delegate packs, placards, handbooks, lanyards, transport, accommodation, publicity, entertainment and catering are all ready for the arrival of the participants. The Secondary School Choir and dancers are busy with final rehearsals for the Opening Ceremony where Maria Alonso, Secretary General ISPMUN, and Mr Nick Rugg, representative from ISP, will welcome the delegates and directors to the first ISPMUN conference held in Spain.
The first official day of the conference will be held in the Primary School followed by a social evening in Calpe. The second day and the closing ceremony will be held in the Secondary School.
Over 60 LES students will take part in the conference either as delegates, committee members, behind the scene crew or security officers.
It is a very exciting time for everyone who has been involved in the extensive organisation of the event and for those who will participate in the conference.
